Note to Folks at EntreCard Who Want an Ad

Update: I got off EntreCard, so this isn’t an issue anymore.
It’s not that I don’t like you all. I just want fiction- and writing- and serial-related ads. May be a tough sell, but I already have Spontaneous Derivation for all your general ad needs.
Now, if y’all could actually read the site description on EntreCard I’d be real happy, as opposed to rejecting 16 ads a day.

Snoskredon 07 Jul 2008 at 3:54 am 1People no longer see the site description when they purchase an ad, not since the new browsing system was brought in a couple of months ago. That is why you probably get so many ads you don’t want.
Frankly wanting ads that only fit into your specific niche doesn’t work out too well with Entrecard, especially with their new pricing system.
I hate the new pricing system - it means to keep your ad at a decent price you have to accept the majority of ads that come to you. If you want a suggestion it would be to simply accept the ads you get or remove the entrecard entirely from this blog because it will be a huge waste of time if you’re only going to accept ads in a specific and frankly quite tiny niche.
Maybe this thought might make it easier. All blogs are writing related. Everyone has to write to blog. ;) Unless they’re blatantly stealing content. :(
I bought an ad from your blog (for the Aussie Bloggers blog) because I liked your entrecard design. At least you went to some effort, it looks good. Unlike a lot of the other entrecards on there.

Arachne Jerichoon 09 Jul 2008 at 6:56 pm 3Snoskred, thanks for the compliment about my little EntreCard. I already have a blog about writing (that being Spontaneous Derivation) and this little fiction blog I keep on the side exclusively for fiction. I don’t mind being more exclusive here.
I’m not particularly interested in boosting the cost of advertising on my sites—indeed, I wouldn’t mind it if it cost only 8ECs for anyone to offer an ad on my blogs. I’m mostly interested in the “website circle” aspects of it, especially when it comes to this blog.
You could always offer an ad on Spontaneous Derivation itself.
Oh… and no one needs to ask if I’ll accept them or not. Either I click the Accept or the Reject. There is no ask. ;)
